Are you registered on the citroen cars site :10:

I know you are on all the others but not sure on that one

It will look the same as that site including colour

So because it's a familiar site that we all know and love... You want to change it? :10:

In the words of a victor meldrew type as befits my 55 years - "I don't like change" :)

If it aint broke - dont fix it is my opinion.

Anyway - another humble opinion :) how come we have to go looking for the emoticons now Glen? They used to be readily available at the side of the message box. I tend not to use them so much now unless I am aware something can be taken wrongly - so sometimes it comes out in a way I didn't intend.

And some of us HAVE noticed - you change your eye every day?

My all seeing eye changes dependent on the time of day, can't remember the times I coded now

As for the smilies click on "toggle side panel" and they will re-appear should stay until you tell them not to ;)

Sory boss, don't like it. I'm a simple soul who likes things that work without frills. To be totally honest, I'm not at all impressed with any of the recent changes either.

Maybe, there's something about Picasso owners I not too comfortable with either. Since I have both, I did join the Picasso site and felt decidedly unhappy with the sort of comments and conversations I picked up on. The Picasso is fine, not as good as the Gal, but OK in it's way, so it must be just the Picasso types that I don't fit in with.

Back to this site, IMHO it was much better a year ago, but if you've been forced to make changes because of abuse, ease of control, or requests for improvement, so be it.

The most important thing about any such site is the folks who use it and you cannot improve that.

The only other comment I have is that it seems a lot quieter her than it used to be or, again, is that just me.

All in all, great site, good management, no need for change.

Regards,

Ron.

As with any site it can seem quieter than usual, some people move on and don't have time for their daily visit, or they feel as soon as they sell their car they should not be privilaged on the forum.

Over the years many have come and gone, we do get quiet times but then it all picks up with a new breed of people, unfortunatly nothing ever stays the same.

The early forum format I had 2003 ish would not cope with the amount of activity that this site has, and as time goes on changes are needed for the good of the site.

Um - Thanks Glen - I toggled side panel and then the reply panel drops below it so thats not what I meant. It used to be directly alongside the reply page... aesily accesible as you type.

I'm not quite sure how much has changed over the last few months because you keep ferreting about with it (meant in a nice way)

It USED to be brilliant and very user friendly to technophobes - it now seems more complicated and 'bitty...

How about erm... trying it the way it was about a year ago

Then find something else to do when you feel the need to relieve boredom?

umm I like both the 'dark' and 'mocha' skins from the hp site especially like the icons and buton face of 'Dark' how about something along the lines of galaxies as the forum 'bullet' points then we could have red ones for new messages etc   you obviously have too little to do aleady :16:

I supose I could do that and hope that hackers do not happen upon the site ,

Most updates I do are essential to try and stop hacking and spamming, I did not update the renault and peugeot site, they have now been closed due to the fact they were constantly bombarded with hack attacks and spammers.

Some updates cause problems with some browsers, the writers of the software do stick to conforming with HTML Standards but IE does not always comply, it works great for me and other users I cannot do a great deal about this.

This is how I see it

having had a quick look at the proposed skin for the Pic site I have to say if its not too much work it would be nice to have an individual choice  ps with consistent buttons to match - Is there anything anybody else could help with ?

Ah Glen - I see your "toggle" brings that window alongside your message box.

On mine the 'boxes are too wide to allow them to fit alongside - there would be an approximate 1/2" overlap

"I supose I could do that and hope that hackers do not happen upon the site  ,"

Sorry Glen - I meant the layout and look of the site

Um the Renault forum... I posted in the Scenic forum Yesterday... Surprisingly it accepted the log in name and password I use here - and i hadn.t joined it

Have to agree with Dave and Scorpion, I don't like any of the recent changes either.

It is becoming too fiddly to navigate around, to the point where I just can't be bothered to come on any more whereas I used to be on here all the time. I wonder how many others have felt that way as the forum seems to be changing to a small hardcore team where it used to be a wide span of people.

Other forums I belong to are not like this and any first timers must be a little bewildered by the many sections to the point where they may give up before joining(especially with the rediculous restrictions put on new members which I have never seen on any other site so why does this one have to have it)

Given that the idea is to attract more new members to the site you seem to be making it harder for newbies to come on board.

There seems (to me anyway) to be a distinct drop in the constant flow of new questions from new mebers and this site seems to becoming a bit of a general chit chat forum for the 'elder statesmen' on the forum.

Could this be an effect of the changes.

This day and age newbies have to be able to navigate, post and digest quickly othewise they lose interest and look elsewhere.

I have joined dozens of forums since this one and have found this to be the hardest to use.

Just my opinion but if you want the forum to grow it has to get easier not harder to use, these days surfers have the attention span of a goldfish.

Had a look at the Rover sight Greg? I find if you have a darker background its easier on the eyes. Is there a way you can adjust the way we PM freinds without having to go through different windows .... it just seems a bit fiddly and quite long winded at the moment.
